Our collaboration with Cut Films has resulted in our young people making a short film designed to encourage their friends not to smoke and can be found on the following link http://competition.cutfilms.org/search?q=It+all+starts.
This was a fantastic project that saw our young people learn lots of gruesome facts about smoking. They then thought of an idea, and filmed and edited this to make their film. The young people collaborated brilliantly as a team and learnt lots of new skills in the process.
This film was entered into a competition. Our young people saw their film screened, alongside others at a regional event at the Odeon Richmond on 14 June. We were delighted and proud that the film won two awards. The awards were for ‘Overall Popular Choice’ and second place in the 12-15 category. Furthermore our young people spoke at the event. They are now invited to a national screening of their film at the Curzon Soho in early July.
On Sunday 26th March the MTV Running Team will take on the Kingston Breakfast run again to raise funds to support the youth of Hampton.

It's a new year but MTV Youth is back again to provide the Youth of Hampton with a safe, supportive place to enjoy a Friday night at. The club will run at the usual time on Friday nights between 7pm-8.30pm on both sites but children will need to remain on the site they choose for the whole time. Parental consent forms still need to be completed for new children and registers to sign children in and out will be taken on both sites.

MTV is going through some changes as we look to continue to run our Friday night club sessions while sourcing a suitable venue. The growth of St.Mary's School means we are no longer able to base activities inside the building and, rather than reducing what we provide, from November MTV will operate out of 2 separate centres while we work on getting a single site up and running. Please see this leaflet for more information.
On the 15th July MTV celebrated its 5th birthday with an extravaganza. An inflatable assault course took the edge of our youth's energy on a sunny evening before the over 100 attendees gathered to see the Debuty Major and our MP present our Jack Petchey as well as our yearly awards. Well done everybody. Now relax and recharge over the summer. MTV returns on the 16th September.
On Saturday 21st May we held a fundraising event at Hampton Methodist Church, raising over £230 to help develop our junior leaders. Thank you to all those youngsters and volunteers who helped or contributed. A few pictures are on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/mtvhampton/.

On 18 June the children participated in the Water Rocket Competition at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington. The children really embraced our 'Pigs Might Fly' theme, dressing up and making pink piggy rockets for which they won a special award. Special thanks to wonderful volunteers, Geoff and Holger, for leading the team so enthusiastically.
Pictured are our star jumpers from the 10K Spacehopper Challenge we held on 6 June. Well done to Piers (on the blue spacehopper) who hopped an amazing 2,500 metres raising £100. By taking part in this event children raised much-needed funds for their youth club.
On 6th June we will not be opening Linden Hall. Instead we are running our great Spacehopper Challenge to raise money for MTV as well as to have a lot of fun bouncing around and crashing into each other..
Linden Hall will not be open on this day so please come straight down to the Hampton Junior School playing field on Oldfield Road.
MTV is back for the summer term on 2nd May.. We'll still be at Linden Hall but are hoping to be able to move back to Oldfield Road later during the term. So watch this space..
